This ring is characterized by a double cartouche bezel in which are engraved the first name and the name of the last sovereign of the XVIII Dynasty, Horemheb.
This prized jewel testifies to the skill of Egyptian craftsmen in working with hard stones such as jasper. The material was chosen for the magical value attributed to red jasper to protect people and keep hostile forces away, enhanced by the power of the name of the sovereign in the shenu ring of the cartouche.
