The Museum
The MAMbo - Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna is part of the Settore Musei Civici Bologna and belongs to the Area Moderna e Contemporanea.The museum offers a dynamic perspective: it travels through the history of Italian art from the second post-war period until today; it explores the present thanks to an exhibition centred on research and it contributes to outline the routes of contemporary art following the most innovative and pulsating experimental practices.
Located in the heart of the Manifattura delle Arti cultural district, the museum is the focus of various research - and innovation - based activities, such as the Cineteca di Bologna, the DMS workshop spaces, the Communication Sciences Faculty and many associations and art galleries.
MAMbo joins the cultural network collaborating with different Institutions and Academies, in order to promote and stimulate the debate on contemporary culture.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays: h 10 am - 7 pm
Non-holiday Mondays: closed
Saturday, September 28, 2024, on the occasion of European Heritage Days: h 10 am - 12 am with entrance to the museum at € 1.00 from h 8 pm
Friday, October 4, 2024 (San Petronio): h 10 am - 7 pm

How to get here
By plane > from Marconi Airport take the people mover.By train > from the Central Station choose from the following alternatives:
- on foot: (10') Exiting the Station turn right on Viale Pietramellara, then left on Via Amendola to the Piazza dei Martiri 1943/1945 traffic circle. Continue by turning right onto via Don Minzoni to number 14;
- by bus > 35 and 33 (stop “Don Minzoni”); 21 and 30 (stop “Piazza dei Martiri,” then continue on Via Don Minzoni);
- by car > exit 5 Lame.
